Surrogacy in Vietnam
In Vietnam, surrogacy is allowed only for married couples since 2015, as long as the couple does not have a common child and the woman cannot have a child even with medical support. This is possible only when using the sperm and egg of the future parents. A surrogate mother must be related to one of the spouses and can become a surrogate only once in her lifetime. Due to such restrictions in the legislation, Vietnamese citizens are forced to apply for surrogacy programs in Ukraine or Russia, where guarantees of the surrogacy process are provided by law.
It is worth noting that the number of Vietnamese couples who want to use this method of reproductive medicine is increasing from year to year.
